Conel OS 6.1.6 released

Written by Jan Otte, Tuesday 13 March 2018

New version of firmware for our routers is available on Engineering Portal.

Except the SR305 and SL302 which are destined for NAM market and thus a firmware change is a subject of certification, the 6.1.6 is available for majority of routers. Details of distributions can be found in the Firmware Distribution overview document.

Just a quick repetition - you can always find the last firmware files available at Last firmware page and also directly linked to all appropriate Products.

To name a few changes out of the Release Notes:

  • A few improvements to the IPSEC (Xauth for IKEv1 and possibility to disable reauth for IKEv2).
  • Added new information to the reports plus allowed User Modules to add information to generated report file (handy if you write your own User Modules).
  • Improved workarounds for routers using Telit cellular modules.
  • Additional characters allowed for passwords.
  • Regular number of bugfixes, couple of them focused on ethernet stability and also throughput.
  • As usual, some security fixes

Upgrade is recommended especially in the case you were waiting for IPSEC changes, bothered by one of the fixed bugs or using router with Telit chipset. Anyways, benefits from security fixes applies to everybody so 6.1.6 becomes the default for all newly manufactured products - latest+greatest for all regular shipments.
